DSC 0049 8m8e8a6xBorn in Arezzo, Central Italy, Stefano Roselli graduated at Fine Arts Academy in Bologna. He has been living in Rimini for some years, being Plastic Disciples professor at State Liceo Artistico in the same city.An artist who grew up with the vague surrealistic suggestion shades, in his latest sculpture (with some graphic works witnessing his creations) he got away from his plastic style, lightly monumental, that underlined his first steps. At now he’s closer to a softer ideal, as if an embryonic and rarefied dimension was replaced by a new vision, more harmonic and decorative, lingering on material sublimation, looking for a composition rule letting opera freedom in narrow limits, but allowing it space for dynamism. As far as his evolution path, in this case, from his aesthetic-creative research various quotations are outstanding: Moore, Liberty and Baroque. Those references are expressed through sharp and contemporary “decorativism”, taken to extreme levels, wich openly say about himself that’s above all view pleasure.
